Gary P. Beisman ObituaryMr. Gary P. Beisman, 84, a lifelong Las Vegas resident, passed away at The Rioat Las Estancia nursing home in Albuquerque, NM on September 26th, 2022. He was the son of the late Henry E Beisman, Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor and Alta Beisman who is remembered as the special caretaker of the Plaza Park.Gary was born in Las Vegas on May 2, 1938. He is survived by his brother,Gene, and Mickey Beisman (Albuquerque), two nieces,DanaLynn Beisman(Albuquerque) and Krysten Melissa Melancon and husband Michael (Colorado),great niece and nephew Mackenzie Emily Beisman and Samuel Henry Beisman(Albuquerque), and first cousins Ellen Tole (Albuquerque), Joyce Brown and herhusband Don (Florida), Claude Callison (deceased) and wife Trudy (Durango,CO) and second cousins, Kim Tole (Albuquerque), Kerry Tole (Albuquerque),Pam Lowry (Wilber, Washington State), Steve Lowry and wife Karen (Davenport,Washington State), Frederick Monsimer (Norristown, PA), Susan Dolan and herhusband Greg (Medway, MA), Cathy Boatright and her husband, Russ (Texas),Trevor Callison (Durango, Colorado), Darcy and her husband (Connecticut) andDuffy Callison and his wife (California), Stephanie and Tracey (Joyce Brown'sdaughters).Gary grew up on the Las Vegas Plaza and graduated from Robertson HighSchool (Class of 1956). He played footballand wasthe manager of the basketball team.His love and passion were his cattle and his land. He ran his cattle on his grandparent's homestead for over 60 years and knew every inch ofthe land. He enjoyed stopping and talking to his Mineral Hill neighbors androaming the Mineral Hill land.Gary had a gift for mechanics and was intuitive with car, truck, and tractorengines. He also was a master at plumbing, and he created and built indoorplumbing in the 1950s at his parent's cabin near Camp Blue Haven. His expertisein building also included constructing a rock based bridge to get to the cabin.Gary owned his own diesel truck repair business and worked for local people. Hehad a passion and love for Model T Fords, Ford trucks, and farm equipment.
Gary joined the Mounted Police in September, 1974,and was the supplysergeant for many years.He also served as a Captain for the Cabo Lucero Volunteer Fire Department.He loved folk music from the 1950s and 1960s and his favorite band was theLimelighters and solo artist Joan Baez.I n his later years, he enjoyed watching the West Las Vegas High School paradesand holiday events on the plaza. Gary was respected and loved by his neighbor son the plaza and his neighbors at Mineral Hill and Camp Blue Haven.Services will be held at Roger's Mortuary on October 8, 2022 at11:00am.Aviewing will be held 9:00am - 11:00am.Following theservice his remains will betaken to the Las Vegas Masonic Cemetery where interment will be made near his parents
