A graveside service for Mr. Gary L. Boatner will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, with Rev. Matthew Stokley officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Gary Lee Boatner, age 83, of Collinsville, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at home with his family by his side.
Mr. Boatner was an avid Ole Miss fan, he also enjoyed watching baseball especially his team the New York Yankees. He loved his Toyota Tundra and driving it daily brought him so much happiness. Prior to his health decline he enjoyed playing golf at the Navy base in Meridian. On January 15, 2025, Gary was baptized where he found his new relationship with Christ.
He is survived by his daughter, Dana Salisbury (Keith); grandchildren, Katelyn Shirley, Aaron Shirley, Kelsey Frank (Anthony), Evan Salisbury, and Miranda Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Levi, Kenzley, and Azzy; sister, Martha Skinner (David); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janis Boatner of over 48 years; parents, Clyde and Ivon Boatner; siblings, William "Bill" Boatner (Peggy), numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Compassus staff for the care they gave to Mr. Boatner.
