Gary Casey Obituary
Gary Quillen Casey, MD passed away Friday August 15, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born in Richlands, Virgina, he was the son of the late Fred and Lelia Faye Quillen Casey. After graduating from Richlands High School, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Emory and Henry College before completing his studies as a Doctor of Medicine from Medical College of Virginia. He practiced medicine for 36 years prior to retiring.
Gary was an avid skier and tennis player. He loved his model train layouts. He was an enthusiastic collector of classical music and an audiophile.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Aaron and daughter-in-law Rachel; and two sisters, Gizele Bowen of Tazewell, Va and Jerean Grau of Lagrange, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Temple Hill Cemetery in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Roy Hull officiating.
