Funeral Service for Gary Joe Christie, 55, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the House of Praise in Marble City, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Marble City Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Gary was born on February 8, 1970 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Polly (Locust) Christie and George Christie and passed away on November 5, 2025 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He didn't have any children of his own, but was a special Uncle to his many nephews and nieces. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and always looked forward to family gatherings and dinners. He was never a talker as his words of "no time for chit chat", but at times he could be a jokester - bringing laughter and joy at EVERY family gathering. Gary was a true believer and praised the Lord. He's now blessed and in the arms of peace and happiness.
Survivors are four sisters, Donna Pettit and Tex of Marble City, OK, Marilyn Smith and Richard of Vian, OK and Carol Thurairajah and Sam of Fort Smith, AR, and Georgia Ann Fields and Shane of Muskogee, OK; four brothers, Elvis Christie and Carol of Uniontown, AR, George Jr. Christie of Sallisaw, OK, Billy Christie of Sallisaw, OK, and Larry Christie and Tina of Sallisaw, OK; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Polly Christie; paternal grandparents, John Christie and Sadonnie Cheater; and his maternal grandparents, Walker Locust and Katie (Seabolt) Locust.
Active Pallbearers will be Shawn Christie, Dustin Ball, Elijah Ball, Jarren Ball, Johnny Christie, and Jacob Christie.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicky Christie, Justus Christie, and Chase Peck.
Viewing will be 4 - 8 PM Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and the Wake will start at 1 PM Tuesday at his home.
