Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on January 15, 1988, to Brenda Hogan and Felipe Ortez. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Elton Ortega.
William is survived by his sister, Marjorie Ortega of Vian, OK; and his beloved niece, Pazis Baker of Vian, OK; aunt, Tina Wildcat of Okay, OK and multiple cousins; his extended family, John & Shelly Baker, Alisha Madina, Nathan Baker, and Wesley Baker, as well as many friends who loved him dearly.
Willam was a fun-loving, kindhearted young man who had a smile that could light up any room. Despite facing many illnesses throughout his life, he remained joyful, compassionate, and full of love for others. He never let hardships steal his light.
From childhood, William's family and friends remember him as someone who brought happiness wherever he went - always checking in on others, sharing laughter, and spreading warmth. He was a fighter, strong in faith and spirit, and his courage inspired everyone who knew him.
His best friend and "brother," Wesley Baker, remembers him as a rock — a person who could find joy in the simplest things, like playing Xbox or watching Netflix with a big grin. "You changed my perspective on life," Wesley said. "Thank you for showing me how to smile when nothing is okay."
William's cousin shared that she will always remember him as her childhood best friend, someone who was "one of a kind" and who always made life brighter. She finds peace knowing that he is reunited in heaven with Nannie, Papa, his brother Elton Ortega, his mother, Brenda Hogan, and loved ones who have gone before him.
His sister, Marjorie Ortega, shared: "Nobody can fill your place in my heart. I'm putting all my trust in our Lord to see you with Mama and Bubba again. You were my sweet boy. My heart is with you always."
William touched countless lives with his warmth, resilience, and unwavering faith. Though his time on earth was too short, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
"Until we meet again, may your soul rest in peace and your smile shine on forever."
