Ellen Louise Hogan

Ellen L. Hogan, age 86 formerly of Corning, NY passed away on November 7, 2025 at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY. Born on April 24, 1939 in Troupsburg, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ellen (Sherman) Cady.
Ellen married James F. Hogan, Jr. on June 27, 1959, he predeceased her on March 6, 2004. Ellen began working as a typist for Corning, Inc. before taking time to raise her children. After her children were grown, she worked various other jobs before her retirement.
Ellen was a devout Catholic and a lifetime member of All Saint's Parish. She loved gardening, crafting, and baking, and especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren. During the holidays, she was known for making hundreds of sugar cookies with all the toppings, inviting everyone to join in decorating them. She made the very best cookies and also enjoyed shopping and sharing her cake creations with family and friends.
Ellen is survived by her children: Cynthia Allard of Horseheads, NY and her children: Erin, Christopher and Michelle, Michael (Jenny) Hogan of Aiea, HI and their children: John, Mario, Mark and Michael, Jr., Diane Mundrick of Montour Falls, NY and her son, Daniel, William (Jonally Ortiz) Hogan of Orlando, FL, Janice (Charles) Rumsmoke of Horseheads, NY and their children: Kayla, Nicholas and Mackenzie; great grandchildren; sister, Waneta Henninger of Painted Post, NY; longtime caretaker, Nancy Pearson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ellen was predeceased by her siblings: Onolee Tillotson, James Cady and Mary Cady.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 4:00 pm, Fr. Matthew Walter officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.
