Gary Lee Clay, 65 of Louisa, KY entered Heaven's gate on November 14, 2025. Gary was born July 13, 1960 in New Martinsville, WV to the late Elwyn Lee Clay Jr. and the late Catherine Ronelda Clay. He was a member of the Cherryville Missionary Baptist Church and a retired coal miner. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert (Bobby) Elwyn Clay and Steven Andrew Clay.

Gary is survived by his wife and best friend of 45 years Janet Sperry Clay, daughter Amy (Adam) Newsome and the light of his life, grandson Aiden Cash Newsome, all of Louisa. He is also survvived by his sister Sherry Preston of Louisa, special cousin Skip Leichtiter of New Martinsville, WV and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved dearly.

Growing up you could always find Gary at a ballfield, basketball court or a baseball diamond. He was a big WVU and Marshall fan, loved the Steelers and loved everything Lawrence Co. Bulldogs.

Walk into any room Gary was in and you would find him mid-story making people laugh. He loved reading his bible and studying the word and would talk about Jesus to anyone that would listen. Gary loved the Lord and he loved his family. He will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 19th at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Price officiating.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday November 18th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Care for Gary and his family has been entrusted to our family at Wilson Funeral Home.
