Gary "Styme" Cline, age 60, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on August 13, 2024. He was born on December 31, 1963 in Akron, Ohio. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Cline; and his beloved dog, Cheerio.
Gary had a love of being outdoors camping, fishing and walking in the woods exploring. He brought home what most people thought was junk but he often made them into unique and special treasures. After serving in the Army, he began a career in the roofing industry where he spent more than 40 years before retiring from Local Union 88.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet "Tiny" Cline; daughter, Shaleena (Andrew) Hale; son, Gary "Bud" (Sarah) Cline; granddaughters, Chloe and Zoey Hale; sister, Ginger (Randy) Richards; parents, Iaeger and Annetta Cline; as well as several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305) on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11am until the time of his Funeral Service at 1pm. A Graveside Service at Hillside Memorial Park (1025 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312) will immediately follow the services at the funeral home.
The family would like a special thank you to go to the team of nurses at Summa Cancer Center and Hospice Care.
