Gary D. Confer, 81, of Mill Hall, PA passed away on December 21, 2025 at Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Senior Living. Gary was born in Lock Haven to Dean and Lois (Yeager) Confer on 9/9/1944. He went to high school at Bald Eagle-Nittany and graduated in1962. He went on to earn a degree in computer programming. He worked at Lock Haven University as a computer programmer. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his 3 grandsons. He was a member of TCC North Central church formerly known as Mill Hall Church of Christ Main Street Mill Hall.

Gary is survived by his wife, Shelby of Mill Hall, a son Kirk Confer of Mill Hall and a daughter Melissa Probst of Mill Hall. A brother, David Confer and sister Gayle Confer of Mill Hall Grandchildren are Noah and Camryn Probst and Matthew Confer of Mill Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jay.

Funeral service will be held at Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC.,121 W Main St., Lock Haven, PA on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at 11:00am with the Reverend Jim Redmon officiating. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 9:30 am until the time of the services at 11:00 am.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Senior Living nurses and staff for the great care he received. Memorial donations can be made to TCC North Central church 205 Main Street Mill Hall, PA 17751

Gary was such a wonderful person. I still remember him taking our son Shawn for a ride on his tractor. Gary you will be missed but so grateful to have had you a part of our lives. There will be rejoicing in heaven because you are home with the Lord!
