Gary Wayne Curtis, Age 80, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Sunday September 7, 2025 at his home.

Gary was born in Petersville, Kentucky Augus 3, 1945 to the late James Franklin and Irene Lykins Curtis. From an early age, Gary worked with his father at the family store, Curtis General Merchandise prior to beginning a life-long career in construction. Gary honorably served his country in the United States Army while stationed in Germany. Gary loved watching all sports, particularly UK basketball. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, spending time with his grandkids and family as well as keeping the tires warm with daily trips to McDonald's for his sacred coffee.

Gary is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Love Curtis; his daughter, Lesley (Josh) Cramer of Columbus, Ohio; his son, Drew (Maggie) Curtis of Cincinnati, OH; two grandchildren, Annaleigh and Gunnar Curtis; a sister, Linda (Phil) Kennedy of Vanceburg, KY.; nephews, Joe Kennedy, Mike (Kristy) Kennedy, nieces, Laira Kate and Colleen Kennedy all of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Curtis and a grandson, Parker Cramer.

Visitation will be Wednesday September 10, 2025 from 5-8 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd Street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.

Funeral service will be Thursday September 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Clayton G. Lykins officiating. Entombment will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Kentucky.

Pallbearers for Gary Wayne Curtis will be Joe Kennedy, Mike Kennedy, Josh Cramer, Bobby Yates, Drew Curtis, and Mike Ginn. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gunnar Curtis.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lewis County Family Resource & Service Center 86 Walter Street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
