Gary L. Deemer, 72, of Masury, OH, passed away suddenly on Friday morning, January 9, 2026, in Beeghly Oaks Center for Rehab and Healing, Boardman, OH.
Mr. Deemer was born on June 28, 1953, in Youngstown, OH, a son of the late Rex and Sarah (Orr) Deemer. He was a 1971 graduate of Youngstown City High School.
For most of his career, Gary worked as a burner at local scrap yards. More recently, he retired as a crossing guard for the Sharon School District.
A motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of the Can-Am Spyder Riders for more than 10 years. He also enjoyed being outside, tinkering with projects and fishing. Local kids were naturally drawn to Gary. He enjoyed their company, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Sheryl Miller, whom he married on August 2, 1997; four daughters, Mary Gill and her husband, Steve, of Masury, Monica Krzyston, of Sharpsville, Michelle Krzyston, and Molly Reynolds and her husband, Jim, all of Masury; six grandchildren, Isiah, Lance, MacKenzie, Jesse, Avery and Grace; a great-grandson, Jonathan; two sisters, Arlene Patterson, of Petersburg, OH, and Patricia Clark, of Youngstown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Tri-City Revival, 1957 Pine Hollow Blvd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday (01/13/2026) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Sheri Urey, officiating.
Interment: Vienna Twp. Cemetery.
