It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Gary Lee Dyer, age 69, of Nashville, Tennessee.

Gary proudly served his country as a United States Marine, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal and dedicating eight years of honorable service. Following his military service, he worked as an aircraft fueler for Southwest Airlines, a role he took pride in through many years of dedication.

Gary was a man of many passions. He loved NASCAR, enjoyed bowling, and found great joy in coaching baseball. An outdoorsman at heart, he cherished time spent camping and fishing. A devoted sports fan, his favorite team was the San Francisco 49ers. Above all, Gary's greatest pleasure in life was his family, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 42 years, Sherlene Abston Dyer; his children, Christina Rose Noriega, Harry Tyce Samuel Jr., James Micha Dyer, Jillian Ashley Rose Butler and brother James Ronald "Ronnie" Dyer; his daughter-in-law, Stacy Mullin and sister-in-law Lynne Little Dyer; and his son-in-law, Grejerian Butler. He is also remembered fondly by extended family members and many friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Eula Jean Summers Dyer and Jessie James Dyer, and by his son, Gary Lee Dyer.

Gary will be remembered for his dedication, love of family, and the pride he carried in his service, work, and the life he built with those he loved.
