Gary Enders Obituary

Gary Lee Enders, 71, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 1, 1954, in Bremen, Indiana, Gary was the beloved son of Virgil and Dorothy Enders. He grew up alongside his brother, Loren (Deb) Enders, and sister, Linda (Tom) Heisler, learning early the values of hard work, faith, and family. Life on the family farm taught him responsibility and perseverance - traits that would come to define him. He loved caring for the animals and spent countless hours playing with his dog, Beaver.

Gary was a natural athlete and competitor, excelling in football, wrestling, and track and field at Triton High School, where he was a standout offensive lineman who earned numerous honors and served as Class President. After graduation, he attended Ball State University, where he majored in Accounting and joined the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. There, Gary formed lifelong friendships and served as a leader on the fraternity’s executive board - known for his charisma, humor, and ability to bring people together.

In 1978, Gary married the love of his life, Cheryl, on September 16. Together, they built a home grounded in faith and filled with joy. They raised three children - Lindsay (Preston) Triplett, Brian (Shana) Enders, and Daniel (Valerie) Enders - who were the pride of his life. Gary worked tirelessly every day, yet always found time to be present with his children, whether it was playing outside, helping with schoolwork, or reading bedtime stories. Family meant everything to him, and he poured his heart into every moment they shared.

Professionally, Gary dedicated over 40 years to the Pepsi Bottling Company in Logansport, where he rose to the role of Vice President and General Manager. Under his leadership, the company experienced tremendous growth and success. But beyond his professional achievements, Gary was most proud of the people he mentored and inspired. He led with humility, humor, and heart - always seeing the good in others and helping them see it in themselves.

Faith was an anchor in Gary’s life. He was a devoted member and deacon of Calvary Presbyterian Church, where he served faithfully for many years. Gary loved singing in the choir, and some of his favorite memories were being part of the men’s quartet during Christmas Eve services. His faith shaped his character and the way he loved others, with compassion, generosity, and joy.

Gary had a rare gift for making others feel valued and important, no matter who they were. His personality was magnetic and his quick wit and easy laugh could light up any room. Whether swapping stories, hosting friends at the lake house he was so proud of, or playing a competitive game of Euchre, Gary had a way of making every gathering feel special.

Above all, Gary was a family man - a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and loving son. He adored his grandchildren - Charles and Veronica Triplett; Beau Liebner; Silas and Rhys Enders; and James and Lucas Enders - and cherished every moment spent with them. He loved playing with them like a kid himself, finding pure joy in their laughter. Whether cheering from the sidelines, hosting family get-togethers, or simply enjoying time at home with Cheryl, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved most.

Gary loved sharing his successes in life, not only with family but also with friends and neighbors. His generosity, optimism, and laughter brought people together and made everyone feel welcome. He will be deeply missed every single day - he was the foundation of an entire family, and his legacy lives on in the love, laughter, and faith he shared so freely.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 10:30 am Friday October 24, 2025, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Lute officiating.

A visitation will be held from 3 – 7 pm Thursday Oct. 23, 2025, in the Gundrum Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Cass County Humane Society, honoring the kindness and generosity that defined his life.
