Gary Douglas Erlich, 74, passed away on November 29th, 2022 at his home in San Diego, CA where he was recovering from recent heart surgery. He was born in St Louis, MO and lived in the Kansas City area from the age of 10 until moving to CA after graduating from the University of Kansas in 1970. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7th at Rosehill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Research in Gary's name.
Gary was an active member of Albert Michaelson AZA and Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. He graduated with a major in advertising and a minor in sports broadcasting. He was active in advertising throughout his career and owned and operated Erlich Communications at the time of his death. His love for sports was legendary and he was a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals as well as the San Diego teams and the University of Kansas athletic teams, especially basketball! He also enjoyed his time with his pets and close friends and companion to whom he was extremely loyal.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Ruth Erlich. He is survived by his partner of nearly 30 years, Jeani Buchanan, sister Karyn (Jeffrey) Weiner, nephew, Cory (Jaymie) Weiner and niece, Alyson Weiner as well as his great niece and nephew, Madison and Brady Weiner as well as many loving cousins.
