Gary Erskine Obituary
Gary A. Erskine, 84, of Battle Creek, died May 28, 2025. Gary was born November 15, 1940 in Battle Creek to Paul and Alma (Jenkins) Erskine. He graduated from Athens High School in 1958. He married the former Shirley Haley on August 4, 1961. Together, they owned and operated GE Stamp Works in Battle Creek for many years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Gary was active in boy scouts with both of his sons achieving Eagle Scout. He was a life member of the Harper Creek Optimist Club.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; two sons, Scott (Abby) Erskine and Todd (Cathy) Erskine; grandchildren Rachel Erskine, Chloe Erskine, Corinne (Stu) Verheek, Lisa (Jason) Westphal, Elizabeth (Brandon) Precopio, Nick (Alexis) Buckley, Abby (Ryan) Lumbard and 5 great-grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty Lou Erskine, Alma Jean Wise, Nancy Miner, Sally Wise and granddaughter, Emma Marie Erskine.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
