Gary Lynn Evens

Gary Lynn Evens passed away on Oct 23, 2024 at the age of 83 in Mustang, OK. Born on October 15, 1941 to Garland and Blanche Evens in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Gary graduated from Tahlequah High School, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 1959. He attended Ft. Scott Junior College in Kansas on a track scholarship. He joined the Army National Guard in 1962. He returned to Tahlequah and attended Northeastern State University. He became a pipeline welder for Williams Brothers working in South America and the Middle East for many years. He was a member of the Pipeliners Local Union 798 retiring in 2008. Gary is survived by his wife, Brenda Evens of Mustang, and his 3 children, Scott Evens and wife Stacey of Oregon, Cory Evens of California, and Sarah Westbrook of Colorado. His bonus son, Cory Renegar and wife Christie of Yukon, Oklahoma. His bonus daughter, Amanda Just and Alfred Nelson of Yukon, Oklahoma. Brother Rusty Evens of Broken Arrow, sister Kris Harris of Tahlequah, and sister Melissa Evens of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gary has 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Nieces and Nephews, his fur baby Ozzie, and his very dearest friend and fellow Pipeline Brother, Juan Rivera of Hondo, Texas. A celebration of Gary will be held at a later date.
