Gary Finley Obituary
Gary Wayne Finley, 69, of Marion, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Charles F. George VA Medical Center in Asheville.
Gary was born in McDowell County, NC on September 21, 1954 to the late Earl Ray Finley and Gladys Lewis Finley. He was married to his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Jane Anderson Finley. Gary served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a member of Harvest Time Baptist Church. Gary was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a Corvette enthusiast and enjoyed riding around Lake James. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a sister, Joretta Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Carloyn “Connie” Finley; a daughter, Carrie Comar (Jason); a son, Roger Dale Anderson (Tiffany); six grandchildren, Jonathon, Skylar, Destiny, Jason, Haven, and Emma; three great grandchildren; and a niece, Vicki Martin (Freddy).
A memorial service will be held at Harvest Time Baptist Church on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 6:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 5:45 pm.
