Mr. Gary Lynn Floyd, age 53, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
Gary has been a son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend and father. He was born January 17, 1971 in Pensacola, Florida, to Vernon Berry Floyd, Sr. and Beverly Ann Hughes Lunsford. Gary grew up learning to weld, being taught by his father, Vernon, at his father's shop. He worked at his dad's shop for several years, then was sales manager for Midway truck Parts. He loved race cars, working on cars and trucks, and mud bogging. He loved one thing better than all else, his true love, his beautiful daughter, Gracy. He loved his little "peanut"! He tried to teach her to weld, but she was not very interested in that! After Gary's partial recuperation from the stroke, he set up a repair shop at his home. He was always looking up, being positive about things. When someone asked him how he was doing, he'd say, "if I had a tail, I'd be wagging it!" He will be remembered most for his smile, his laughter, and his zest for life. We will continue see Gary in his beautiful daughter, Gracy!
Along with his daughter, Gracy, his father, Vernon Berry Floyd, Sr., and his mother, Beverly Ann Hughes Lunsford (Marty), Gary is survived by 4 brothers: Berry Floyd of Willacoochee, Georgia, David Jason Gideons of Panama City, Florida, Daniel Floyd of Copers Cove, Texas, and Tyler Douberly of Douglas, Georgia; along with the mother of his daughter, Stacy Floyd. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends also survive.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday morning, January 6, 2025 at Saving Grace Ministries with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. The family will have a private inurnment at a later date.
