Gary William Freudeman, age 76, born on August 4, 1948 in Akron, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday January 4, 2025.
A proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Gary carried with him a spirit forged in the school of hard knocks. His experiences throughout his life not only shaped his outlook but instilled in him a unique ability to connect with people. He was a man who understood the beauty of resilience, always approaching life with a humor that was as warm as the heart behind it. Known for his dad jokes, Gary had a way of making everyone smile, lighting up even the darkest days with laughter.
Gary earned his associate degree from Stark Technical School in Occupational Therapy, laying the foundation for a career that would see him impact countless lives through his compassionate care. He was devoted to helping others regain their independence, and in doing so, he found fulfillment and purpose that resonated deeply within him.
His interests were wide-ranging but always centered around the things that brought him joy-motorcycles, hunting, and above all, family. Gary had a zest for life that can only be appreciated by those who knew him best. He embraced every opportunity to explore highways on his beloved motorcycle or enjoy the thrill of a day spent hunting with loved ones. Through these hobbies, he created lasting memories that will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He also was proud to be a Mason, Star Lodge # 187, F&AM, active with their Widow's Sons.
Gary's personality was a gift to all who crossed his path. No visit was complete without his signature farewell; he never said goodbye. Instead, with a warmth and sincerity that defined him, he would always say, “Love ya, see ya.” These words, simple yet profound, encapsulate the love he held for his family and friends.
He is survived by his children Audene (Anthony) Rininger, Chris Freudeman, Gary Freudeman II; grandchildren Desiree, Destiny, Darien and Tori; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Carmen and Piper; his special "honey girl" Beth Sheldon; the mother of his children Florence Brandle; siblings Robert (Linda) Freudeman, Cindy (Dan) Meadows, Lynn (Grover) White, Lori Thacker, Norma (Blake) Shay, Laura (Ron) Luchuck; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends including best friend George (Kris Bosley) Wolfe.
Preceded in death by parents Robert Freudeman and Patricia Thacker; brother Lary Freudeman.
As we remember Gary, let us celebrate a life well-lived-a life filled with laughter, kindness, and unwavering love. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit and the memories we share will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
Visitation will be Saturday January 11th from 1-3 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 3 PM with Masonic Services and then with Pastor Justin Freudeman officiating. Memorials may be made to Haven of Rest or a Veterans Group.
