Gary C. Galitz, 79, of Cary, passed away on June 23, 2025.
Gary was born on July 18, 1945, in Chicago to Charles W. and Myrtle (Larsen) Galitz. On February 1, 1969, he married the love of his life, Judy Yearsley.
A lifelong Cubs and Bears fan, Gary was known for his kind heart, his loving nature, and simply being an all-around nice man. He worked as a commercial property underwriter for more than 40 years, building a career marked by dedication and hard work.
Gary is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Brian (Donnah) Galitz and Cheryl (Keith) Wojtecki; his grandchildren, Spencer Crawford, Riley Galitz, Andrew Galitz, and Mason Wojtecki; his great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Gavin; and his sister, Janice Teed.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 29, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 30, at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at Lutheran Church of Martha and Mary, 606 W. Golf Rd., Mt. Prospect.
