Gary Wayne Gilliland, Jr., 52, Valirico, Florida, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
He was born February 25, 1970 in Sweetwater, Oregon the son of Gary Wayne Gilliland, Sr. and Joyce Ann (Bylone) Gilliland. He was united in marriage February 22, 2016 to Michelle K. Meadowcroft. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Widener, a sister, Kristy Widener and a brother, Paul Widener.
Gary was a provider who would do anything for his wife. He had a big heart for those he was closest to and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He loved to make jokes, travel, read, and enjoyed life. He loved his family and was glad to finally get his relationship back with his son and making his grandchildren happy and doing anything possible to put a smile on his wife s face.
He traveled a lot while being an over the road truck driver and shared many great moments with his wife next to him in his truck. His life was taken to quickly from us all, but Gary would not want us to grieve but to remember all the great and fun times he shared with the ones he loved.
He is survived by wife Michelle, a son, Gary W. Gilliland, III and his fianc e Nicole Prister; his father, Gary Wayne Gilliland, Sr., a step-son, Joel Palmer and his wife Ashley, a step-daughter, Loretta Smith and her husband William, seven grandchildren, Joshua, Delaney, Darcey, Blake, Jack, Parker, and Kairo; four brothers, Jesse, Mark, Chris, and Paul Gilliland; four sisters, Tammy Hayes, Cindy Hamilton, Jennifer Absher, and Dawn Hutchens; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2022 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
