Gary Wright Gleaton of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on May 13, 2025, in Clovis, New Mexico. He was born on June 24, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the beloved son of Hutton and Nelwin Gleaton.
A man of many talents and deep passions, Gary lived a life defined by independence, adventure, and love. He was a skilled pilot with a lifelong passion for flying. The same passion extended to his kitchen, where he was known for his spicy dishes and his 365 different ways to cook chicken. Gary's creativity wasn't limited to food-he was artistic in his own right and had the rare ability to build a home from the ground up. He approached life as a canvas and treated each experience as an opportunity to create something lasting and meaningful. Gary's greatest pride was his family. He held steadfast to traditional family values and offered unconditional love and loyalty to a close circle of friends he considered family. He especially cherished the opportunity to guide his son with wisdom, strength, and a clear sense of what it means to be a good man. Gary was also a man of faith, and his love for Jesus was a cornerstone of his life.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Lucero Gleaton and son, John Andrew Gleaton.
An adventurer to the end, Gary lived and died on his own terms. He is deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
