Gary Grant Obituary

Nelsonville Gary Scott Grant, 67, passed away on August 9, 2025 after a long courageous battle. Gary was born August 1, 1958, at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, to the late Willard "Bud" and Eulla Rose (Shoemake) Grant. He was married for 42 years to Carla (Oakley) Grant, who survives.

Gary served in the United States Navy and worked for AEP River Division for 32 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the lottery, and working on the boat for AEP.

Gary is survived by his wife, Carla; three sons, Gary Scott Grant II, Brandon Alexander Grant, and Sydney Tyler "Bud" Grant; sister, Patti (John) Davis; one niece and three nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Wisecup.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 12 to 2pm Thursday at the funeral home.
