Gary Greer Obituary

Gary Wayne Greer, age 73, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was saved and baptized when he was 20 years old at East Rogersville Baptist Church. Gary proudly served in the US Army from 1972-1974. He completed his overseas duty in Germany as an automotive repair parts specialist and also as a stock control and accounts specialist. After he returned home, he held multiple jobs, but the one he was best known for was carpentry. He was a great mechanic and rebuilt car engines. Gary was a wonderful gardener and raised the most delicious old-timey striped tomatoes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary Johnson Greer; wife, Hope House Greer mother of living son, Steven; wife, Ann Catron Greer mother of living daughter, Rachael Nicole "Niki" Carroll.

He is survived by his son, Steven Wayne Greer and wife Nikki Greer and their children , Alana Hope and Mason Wayne; daughter, Niki Carroll and husband Richard Carroll and their children, Kristi and Kolby Delph, Tori Ann, Hannah, Isaiah, Joshua, Noah, Lori and Derrick Carroll; brother, Harry Greer Jr and wife Audrey; sisters, Diana Fleenor and JoAnn Sexton; nieces and nephews, Leslie Freeman, Elisha Sexton, and Trevor Sexton; several great-nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 24th at Highland Cemetery. If you wish to attend, please meet at the cemetery by 1:50pm. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.christiansells.com
