Gary Halstead passed away on February 7, 2026, in Alamo, Nevada, at the age of 79.
Born in San Diego, California, Gary was a sheet rocker known for his strong work ethic and pride in his craft.
Gary loved the outdoors, especially wildlife and fishing. He enjoyed driving, often putting 300 to 500 miles a week on the road just for the pleasure of it. He also loved riding motorcycles and logging miles on his bike. He took great care of his 2019 Ford pickup truck, which had 365,000 miles and was kept in immaculate condition.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Halstead; his daughter, Staci Halstead; and his parents, Belve and Lavina Halstead. He is survived by his brother, Paul Halstead; his daughter, Shari Halstead Gallagher; and his grandson and granddaughter.
