It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Edward Hartman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and cherished brother and friend who left us on September 2, 2025. Born in Blackburn England and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Gary was a man of remarkable talent and passion for work, adventure, and his family. Gary leaves an indelible mark on everyone who knew and loved him.
As a highly successful Electrical Engineer, he dedicated his career to innovation and excellence, earning the respect of his colleagues and peers. Yet, it was his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather that truly defined him. He took immense pride in his children, Michelle and Richard, and their spouses Joe and Celia and their growing families. His love for them was evident in every moment spent together, and he delighted in watching them pursue their dreams.
An avid adventurer, Gary embraced life to the fullest. Whether it was skiing down snowy slopes, scuba diving in the deep blue, or mountain biking through rugged terrains, he thrived on adrenaline and the thrill of new experiences. This zest for life inspired those around him to seek out their own passions and adventures.
His greatest joy came from being a husband, father, and grandfather to his 3 grandchildren, Joey and his wife Emily, Jenna and her husband Clannad, and Claire and his 5 great grandchildren, John Carter, Jack, Jace, Callum and Jane Kate, and he was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his sixth great grandchild in March of 2026. Each moment spent with them filled his heart with happiness, and he cherished the memories they created together.
Gary will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will carry forward his spirit of adventure, love, and pride. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering support for his loved ones. Gary's family has much peace in knowing that he is reunited with the love of his life Jenifer/Gippy in heaven.
