Publish in a newspaper

Gary Scott Hill, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 73. Born on May 23, 1952, in Austin, Texas, Gary's life was a testament to service, both in his career and personal life.

Gary's journey began as a proud son to Paul and Marjorie Hill, although he was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Craig, the values they instilled in him shone brightly throughout his life.

For 43 beautiful years, Gary was the devoted husband of Mary K. Hill. Their unwavering partnership was a source of strength and joy not only to them but also to everyone fortunate enough to witness their bond. Gary will be deeply missed by Mary, who cherished every moment they shared.

He was a proud father to his son Jeremy, who, along with his wife Leanna, brought Gary immense pride and happiness. His role as a grandfather to Mason and Luke was one of Gary's greatest joys; his love for them was endless, and his legacy will undoubtedly live on through their lives.

His siblings, Brian, with his wife Lilly, and Craig's widow Sharon, along with their families, will hold dear the love and laughter shared with Gary.

A respected police officer for 38 years, Gary dedicated his life to the safety and service of others. His commitment to his community was unwavering, and his bravery and integrity were hallmarks of his distinguished career. Gary also served his country with honor as a veteran of the United States Air Force, embodying the values of duty and sacrifice.

Beyond his professional life, Gary was a man who found peace in the great outdoors. He relished every opportunity to go camping and fishing, embracing the tranquility and beauty of nature. These moments of serenity were among his most treasured times, often shared with family and friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the pallbearers who will carry Gary on his final journey: Brian Hill, Chris Schubert, Rudy Hernandez, Justin Hernandez, Jacob Hernandez, Jeffery Achee, Dagoberto Osorio, Carlos Barrera, and Berry Whelan. In a tribute to the special bond between a grandfather and his grandsons, Mason and Luke will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Gary Scott Hill will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, generosity, and the loving legacy he leaves behind will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come. As we say farewell to this remarkable man, let us honor his memory by embodying the virtues he so effortlessly displayed throughout his life.
