Gary Kitzmiller

In celebration of Gary L. Kitzmiller, also known as Dad, Grandpa Gary, Pop, or Poppy.

He was born on March 3, 1952, and passed away on May 29, 2025, at the age of 73.

He grew up in Mechanicsburg, PA, in his family home. He had two older siblings, Carol Fasting and Ron Kitzmiller. Preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Jane Kitzmiller, along with his sister Carol.

Growing up, Gary loved to go fishing in the spring near the end of town. Often riding bikes and acting like a fool with his friends. He was a part of one of the first classes to graduate from the new high school building. He then earned his CAD degree in blueprint design later in life.

Gary had a passion for all Philadelphia sports, the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and 76ers.

He would be found watching games and yelling at the TV. He attended many parades for the World Series and Super Bowls. Then, became an avid supporter of all Mechanicsburg sports, attending many football, basketball, wrestling, baseball, and cheerleading events.

He spent many years working for Empire and Lowe's, until he finally decided to retire at the age of 69. During retirement, he found joy in starting home projects and taking walks through the park. Additionally, he attended lunch every week with his friends and was looking into traveling more.

Gary is survived by his brother, Ron and sister-in-law, Marie Kitzmiller, three daughters, Kathryn and James Connors, Maggie and Preston Fox, Sarah and Jared Anderson, and grandchildren, Abigail and Mike Palmer, Theresa Manganiello, Jayden and Chase Connors, Alexis Fox, and Charlotte and Avery Anderson.



Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, PA. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of services.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wildcat Foundation, 500 South Broad Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
