Gary Eugene Klein, 84 of Clayton, MO, formerly of Collinsville, IL, born July 24, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Gary was a devoted family man and was an active member of the Collinsville community. A graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree before going on to own and operate the Advertiser Press for over 20 years, where he built lasting relationships and served the community with pride. He dedicated eight years to public service as a member of the Collinsville City Commission. Gary honorably served in the United States Navy.
In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling - always seeking new experiences and peaceful moments outdoors. His love for his hometown and zest for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Gladys (nee Wrigley) Klein.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamala G. (nee Morris) Klein, whom he married November 27, 1958; three children: Kipley (Renee) Klein, Shawn (Christy Lin) Klein and Leslie (Craig) Eversmann; four grandchildren: Cameron Klein, Keenan Klein, Chad Eversmann and Tyler Eversmann; five great-grandchildren: Cooper Klein, Sloane Klein, Chloe Klein, Jack Eversmann, and Baby Eversmann due any day; a brother, Craig Klein; and a sister, Donna Turnbull.
Gary was cremated and no services will be held.
