Dennis Joseph Eberle, 85, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at St. Elizabeth's Hospice in O'Fallon, IL, surrounded by his loving family. Born October 10, 1939, in Highland, IL, Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine (née Williams) Eberle; his beloved wife, Bonita "Bonnie" Kay (née Graham) Eberle; his daughter, Hally Eberle; and his sister, Kathleen Eberle. Dennis is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Robert) Corrie of Maryville, IL, and Kelly (Steve) Loyet of Highland, IL; three grandchildren, Brandon Stalets, Robert J. Corrie, and Ryan J. Corrie; and six great-grandchildren, Aiden Nolte, Brooklynn Corrie, Elayna Stalets, Emma Corrie, Bennett Corrie, and Oliver Stalets. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis proudly served in the United States Army and retired after 35 years as a switchman for Terminal Railroad. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping, and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jami Kyonka. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to the Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association. Contributions may be made at the visitation or mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
