Gary Lee Kling, age 87, of Enola, and formerly of Carlisle, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Gary was born on Thursday, July 16, 1936, in Carlisle to the late Harry Kling and Helen (Bowers) Mules.  In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Wiland.

 

Gary’s survivors include his wife of 68 years, Joann (Bixler) Kling; his four daughters: Tawnya Kling of Mechanicsburg, PA, Tina Kling-Jenkins and her husband, Keith, of Enola PA, Tracy Shaffer and her husband, Scott, of Camp Hill, PA, Tricia Kling of Clearwater, FL; his four grandchildren; Natalie Meloy (Justin), Janelle Kelly (Timothy), Dexter Mason-Kling (Michelle) and Nia Kling. His two great-grandchildren; twins Ethan and Hailey Meloy.  Also surviving Gary is his sister, Shirley Bear of Walnut Bottom; and many nieces and nephews.


Gary retired as a salesman from Norandex after almost 30 years, even winning a trip to Hawaii as top salesman one year.  Then he started American Window Repair. 

Gary was an avid deer and small game hunter, owning a cabin he named 5 Points in Reedsville, Pa. He also loved camping and western movies.  He will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.


As a young man, Gary was a Staff Sargeant and tank commander in the Army National Guard.

 

All are welcome to join Gary’s family at his viewing on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:15 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Gary’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service. 


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Gary’s name via their website.
