Welcome, MN

Gary "Bim" Allen Koenecke, a cherished resident of Welcome, MN, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on July 31, 1954, Gary's life was filled with simple pleasures and deep connections. The Kramer Family Funeral Home of Trimont, Welcome, and Sherburn is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gary was a man who found joy in the everyday moments that many of us overlook. His greatest achievements weren't medals or accolades, but the time he spent with those he loved. Whether he was playing cribbage with friends, enjoying his morning cappuccino, enjoying a leisurely walk down the tracks, or trying his luck at the casino, Gary lived his life in pursuit of laughter and appreciating the small things in life. Family was at the core of Gary's world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

He leaves behind his sisters, Kathy Smith of Fairmont, MN and Vicki (Jim) Whitehead of Sherburn, MN and his brother Randy (Lisa) Koenecke of Welcome, MN. Nephews Jeff and Todd Smith of Fairmont, MN. Will Whitehead of Fort Collins, CO, Derek, Zach (Lauren) and Dalton Koenecke of Welcome, MN. Niece Kim (Elver) Niebuhr of New Ulm, MN. Grand nephews David and Beckett Koenecke and grand niece, Jade Koenecke, all of Welcome, MN and lifelong friend Mike Guerdet of St. James, MN.

Per his wishes, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Martin County Humane Society.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses at Saint Mary's in Rochester, MN, who provided Gary with exceptional care and comfort.
