Gary Richard Krause, 77, passed away on December 13th, 2025 at his home in Houston, TX. Born on October 31st, 1948, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, Gary lived a life devoted to Christ, service, and family.

Serving in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1993, he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His military career took him around the world, including tours in Germany and Thailand, where he earned numerous commendations for his bravery and leadership including Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.

After his military career, he became a transportation and logistics manager in the private sector. Gary was also an active member of the Episcopal community and loved volunteering with the Houston International Seafarers Center, various food banks, and organizing hurricane relief support.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Romayne Krause; and his sister Sally Krause York.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elaine, his children Michael, Mary Frances, and Kathryn, three grandchildren Ruth, Rowan, and Milo, brother Robert, and sister Ann. Gary's legacy of service, humility, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held on January 16th, 2026, 11 AM, at the Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Houston.
