Gary Locklear Obituary
Gary is survived by his son: Gavin Drake and wife Logan of Durham, NC; his mother Jackie Godwin of Pembroke; and a sister: Donna Oxendine of Pembroke, as well as a host of relatives and dearly loved friends.
Gary graduated from Pembroke Senior High school where he formed many lifelong relationships. Later he attended North Carolina State University where he obtained a degree in Turf Management. He enjoyed a career in Golf Course maintenance and later returned to work closer to home as an employee of UNC-Pembroke Facilities team for nearly 20 years.
For much of his life Gary cherished time spent on the golf course with his son and friends. Gary Les as he was known to many will be most remembered as a dear friend, co-worker, classmate and a loving father.
