Gary Charles Losapio, age 73, of Canton, passed away on February 25, 2026. Born July 27, 1952, in Rochester, Gary carried a strong work ethic and independent spirit throughout his life.
A skilled builder and carpenter, Gary had a natural talent for working with his hands and took pride in doing things the right way. Known for his strong will, steady presence, quirky sayings, and sharp sense of humor, he left a lasting impression on those around him.
Gary had a lifelong appreciation for Chevrolet vehicles, and his passion for cars has left a lasting impression on his family. He also enjoyed playing the drums, a creative outlet that reflected another side of his character.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ann Rivaldo Losapio; his daughter, Denise Losapio Crews, and her husband, Jayson Crews; and his three grandchildren. He is also survived by his two stepsons, Richard Damico and Joseph Damico, and their families; his brothers, Johnny and Jeff Losapio; and his sister, Josephine Losapio of Ocala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine Salamone Losapio and Matthew Losapio, and his brothers, Butch Losapio and Steve Losapio.
Gary will be cremated, and no formal service will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring of 2026.
His strength and influence will remain with those who knew him.
