Just ran across this. Dr. Mallo was one the kindest and one-of the best, and his wife Penny was wonderful too. At St Charles Veterinary Clinic, they took care of our bichon frise, who was the runt of the litter and had numerous health issues but lived to be fifteen thanks to Dr Mallo. We also had a sable Burmese cat, who had eye issues from day 1 , and lived 10 years with one eye, again thanks to Dr. Mallo. His incredible kindness will never be forgotten by anyone in my family and he was a person that was so special in so many ways, that one is better just in having the privilege of knowing him.

Doctor was a very special man. He was my vet from the day he opened in Geneva to the day he left St. Charles.
You don't often meet a couple as wonderful as Doctor & Penny.
His passing is a loss.
I extend my deepest prayers to the Mallo family.

The Mallo family is such a light in this world. I have so many fond memories of farm animals and zip
lines. There was always a new face around the homestead with all the foster kids. Most importantly I remember the amazing kindness of Penny and Doc.
My parents cherished their friendship.

I was just thinking of he and Penny the other day. Such fond memories of my first real work experience in an office setting. Dr. Mallo made it such a fun place and was a great leader and boss. He truly helped so many and made even more smile and laugh. My heart goes out to his entire family. The world lost a great human. Rest in peace, you will be missed.

I would like to share a story. As a young veterinarian I was blessed to have Dr. Mallo as my mentor. He was observing a surgery I was performing for the first time. It as a goat that had an obstructed urethra. I did not notice him stepping aside as I incised the urethra and was immediately drenched in goat urine. I can still hear him laughing. He was an incredible humanitarian, veterinarian, husband, father..... and humorist. I am forever indebted to him for teaching me how to practice.

I never met Mr. Mallo but he was a first cousin to my dad Mr Joseph Campbell. Sending condolences to Mr. Mallos family.
