Gary Mangas

Gary Mangas, age 79, passed away January 13, 2026 at Kobacker House. A 1964 graduate of Union City High School in Union City, Indiana, and then attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary to become a preacher. Gary started a family and was highly involved in his church community and ministries at Norton Church of Christ in Whitehall. He loved playing and coaching sports such as basketball and softball. He worked in transportation logistics all of his life. Preceded in death by parents: Vernabelle and Hubert "Tug" Mangas and ex-wife/friend, Anna "Fran" Mangas Rausch. Survived by partner of 26 years, Penny Mowery; children: Jeff (Amy) Mangas, Jennifer (Shawn) Dalton, Aja Dumas; grandchildren: Matty, Liam and Connor, Mixie, Ethan and Estelle; sister, Martha Wyatt and many other family members and friends. There will be a gathering of friends and family January 23, 2026 from 1-3 p.m. at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Road, where memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.
