Lisa Ann Downing, 62, of Farmland, IN, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, peacefully surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home. Lisa was born in Union City, IN, on December 11, 1962, a daughter of the late Palmer Eugene and Joyce Ann (Welch) Stapleton. She was a 1981 graduate of Union City High School and was a former manager and supervisor in the Marketing Industry. Lisa was the loving wife of Kenneth Lee Downing who she happily married on June 7, 1997. Know as "Boss of the Family" or "Dr. Lisa" she stepped into the role as eternal caregiver, patient listener, and the glue that kept everything together. She could recognize a condition or problem her family was dealing with, give guidance or a remedy and rarely was she ever wrong. Lisa enjoyed fishing, crafts, reading, collecting thimbles, sewing, gardening, cooking, listening to Country or 70/80's rock, traveling to Savannah Georgia or Florida with her husband Kenny and spending time with family. Lisa is survived by her husband Kenny Downing, 3 sons: Brian Downing, Terry Eugene Holden, Tyler Holden (Jessica), brother Jeff Stapleton, 2 sisters: Pam Stapleton, Robin Spence (Jeff), 2 grandchildren: Wyatt Holden, Kelsey Holden and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother: Michael DuWayne Stapleton. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 4-6 PM at MJS Mortuaries-Farmland Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 6 PM. Interment will be held privately at a later date in Hopewell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Randolph County Cancer Services or the American Cancer Society. A special thank you to IU Heath Ball Memorial Hospice for their care during Lisa's final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
