Triston Lee Downing

Triston Lee Downing, 45, of Southport, Florida, went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2026.

Born on June 9, 1980, in Milledgeville, Georgia, Triston was a 1999 graduate of Mosley High School. He was known for his strong work ethic and passion for lawn care, where many of his customers became lasting friends and admired his dedication and integrity. A devoted follower of Christ, Triston loved reading and studying his Bible, which was rarely far from his side.

He was an avid FSU football fan and found great joy in cooking for others. Triston had a deep love for all of God's creation-especially his dogs and cats-and took pride in caring for plants, flowers, and the beauty of nature. Above all, he cherished time spent with his wife and best friend.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Rane Downing.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of six years, Melissa Pittman; his daughter, Valerie Downing; his parents, David Downing and Marie (Brown) Downing; his sister, Rhiannon Warren; his in-laws, Eddie and Rhonda Pittman; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He will also be fondly remembered by his beloved dogs-Smokey, Scooter, Bessie, Stella, Sheba, and Buddy-and his cherished cats-Brownie, Boots, Sugar, Raven, and Scotty.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on February 25, 2026, at Beacon of Hope Assembly of God with Pastor Colin Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Triston's kindness, steady faith, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
