Gary Lewis Martin

Gary Lewis Martin, 73, of Burke County, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Blueridge Health Care - Morganton, following a period of declining health. Gary was born July 15, 1948 in Burke County to the late Vester Martin and Janet Reinhardt Martin. He served honorably in the United States Army, was a proud Eagle Scout, and was an avid sports lover. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Eugene Martin. He is survived by his sons, Charles Martin and wife Delayne, and Gary Stilwell; grandchildren, Graham Martin and Griffin Martin; brother, Wiley Martin and wife Eloise; sister, Nancy Clontz; and two nieces and one nephew. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion at www.mylegion.com Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
