Gary Lee McKee Jr., age 61, of Battle Creek passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 1, 2026. He was born on December 6, 1964 in Pierce County, Washington, the son of Gary and Sharon (Burnett) McKee. Gary moved to Battle Creek in April 2003, he was united in marriage on February 14, 2004 to Christina Sager. Gary previously owned and operated a construction/remodeling business and was a semi-truck driver. He was currently employed with R&L Trucking as a trucking supervisor. Gary's hobbies included gaming, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Christina McKee of Battle Creek, children; Gabe Spalding of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Amanda Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia, Kelly (Heather) Lasater of Bedford, Indiana, Andrew McKee of Denver, Colorado, brothers; Tony (Diana) McKee of Columbus, Indiana, Ron Maxwell of Billings, Montana, sister, Stephanie McKeee of Columbus, Indiana, grandchildren; Matthew, Aryan, Wyatt, Morganne, Jordan, Jazmon Kerstin, Desja and a great granddaughter, Zee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place following the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
