Gary L. "Pee Wee" McMechan, 85, of Casey, IL passed away at 8:50 pm on Monday January 20, 2025, at Helia Healthcare of Newton, in Newton.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday January 25, 2025, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, also at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery.
Pee Wee was born on May 19, 1939, in Cumberland County, IL to Lena McMechan and raised by Harry (Alice) McMechan. He married Brenda Burk on October 25, 1987. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2019. He is survived by sons Chuck Stirrett and Darrin Stirrett; daughters Brenda Gail Pocrnich, and Patty Logue; five grandchildren Stefanie Pocrnich, Casey (Brooke) Lee, Amber (Brad) Probst, Whitney (Layton) Belleville, and Pacen Logue; great grandchildren Paysli Kinkelaar, Jayclin Lee, Rayner Lee, Sawyer Probst, Stetson Probst, and one arriving soon. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and son-in-law Marty Pocrnich.
Pee Wee was a lifelong farmer. He also worked out of Union #841 for many years.
