Gary "Dale" Meyer, 1936-2024
Gary "Dale" Meyer passed away peacefully on July 20. He was born on March 24, 1936 in Mingo Junction, OH. He moved to Boulder in 1961. Dr. Meyer spent most of his five-decade teaching career at the University of Colorado and was instrumental in establishing entrepreneurship as an emphasis in the School of Business. He was a key mentor and influence for generations of graduate business students. Among many prestigious honors, he received the Hazel Barnes Award from the University of Colorado and was named a Global Small Business Ambassador by the International Council of Small Business.
He married soulmate Carol Jean Grever in 1999, and they traveled widely and spent many happy hours in his garden. He was also a steadfast mentor for many of his students and a life coach for recovering alcoholics. He is most fondly remembered for his sly sense of humor and warm smile.
Service: Wednesday, July 24, 11:00 at Green Mountain Cemetery, 290 20th Street, Boulder, CO.
