Dear cousins and family,
I was so sorry to discover that Gary has passed away. I remember him fondly, with a light in his eyes and a smile on his face. I regret that the short miles kept us from enjoying his great company.
God bless you and your family, Sincerely Valarie Mitchell Miceli

Gary Mitchell and I worked together at Fleet Services Corporation from 1988 until 1998. We were both dedicated employees there. We enjoyed talking about our Alma Matters, the Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the NRHS with us sometimes dealing with those who did not have anything nice to say about our group and what it means to our area along us being dedicated to this chapter. I was fortunate enough to present with the Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society's annual Helper of the Year Award. The last time I saw Gary alive was for this year's Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society's Annual Banquet in May at the Tovalo Restaurant in Utica. We were very great friends and I could have had my chance to work down with him at the former 268 Genesee Street Branch of then Norstar then Fleet after that Bank of America and making runs while high ranking officials came for their get together up at the Fleet Serices Operations Center on Route 12 in the Town of Deerfield. I will have great memories of him and he was a true friend until the end.

Though to the younger generations you were known as "Super Fan" but to those of us that knew you for much longer you were and always will be "DYNAMITE". You truly were the most dedicated HPCS sports fan ever! We know you will continue to cheer them on from your new Heavenly home. There wasn´t a HP sports detail that you didn´t know. I personally will never forget your opening statement to me was always,"Hey Shepard!, do you remember the time when....?!" Rest in Peace my friend. Jim "Snap" Shepard and brothers Tom and Bob aka; Toad and Wilbur
Dory & family.
