Gary P. Moore Sr., of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on September 30, 2023, at the age of 71. He was a native of Gretna, Louisiana, born on June 25, 1952 to his loving parents, the late Marvin Moore and Stelma Prejean Moore. Gary is the beloved father of Tammy Moore Benton (David), Tonya Moore Menard (Daniel), and Gary Paul Moore Jr. (Tiffany); proud grandfather of Nathan, Bradley, Ashton, Gage, Cayden, Ty, Molly, and Emily; dearly loved brother of Denise Moore Babin; and the most incredible dog dad to Nola, his loyal companion who was with him during his final moments. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members and close friends whom he loved greatly.
Gary was dedicated to his retirement from BP Oil for many years. His children were never allowed to say the four letter swear word (WORK) in his presence. Gary enjoyed traveling and treating his family to vacations.
He enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating, biking, and fishing. Gary loved riding with the top down in his Miata but treasured nothing more than the time he spent with his family and friends. Gary was funny, adventurous, and loved being the life of the party.
Gary never met a stranger and his doors were always open to everyone.
Gary loved to travel and lived life each day to the fullest. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Every time the bell tolls at 5, we'll think of you, cheers!
A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Desi Romano's Sports Bar and Grill in Chalmette. Anyone who loved Gary and wants to celebrate his life is welcomed. Casual attire, Hawaiian shirt or tie-dyed preferred. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com
