Gary Nellermoe

Gary Nellermoe, 83, of West Fargo, passed away under hospice care at HIA Heather's House in Fargo, on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Gary Lee Nellermoe was born on October 10, 1942, in Fargo, ND, to Earl and Lola (Stoltenow) Nellermoe. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1962. He then attended NDSU, Dakota Business College, and served in the North Dakota Army National Guard for 6 years.
On July 6, 1968, he married Julie Sawyer in Fargo. They lived in Fargo and West Fargo where they raised their two daughters and Julie's sister Liz.
Gary worked for 10 years at Merchants National Bank in Fargo, and later as an independent home builder until retirement.
He enjoyed go-kart racing and anything to do with cars. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Gary is survived by his wife of 57 years, Julie; two daughters, Amy (David) Johnson, and Sara (Jon) Hockhalter; four grandchildren, Ashley (Ben) Woodman, Adam Johnson, Abigail Johnson, and Sofia Hockhalter; one brother, Lynn (Terry) Nellermoe; a sister-in-law, Liz (Kerry) Hardy; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lola Nellermoe.
Gary's family would like to thank the staff at HIA Heather's House for the care they provided to him.
Memorial Service: Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
