Steven Bopp

Steven Roger Bopp was born January 6, 1971 in Lisbon, ND to Roger and Mary (Stevens) Bopp. Steve graduated from North Sargent High School, Gwinner, ND in 1989. He then attended NDSCS to start his college education. From there, Steve transferred to MSU, Moorhead where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing. Following college, he returned to his family farm as a 3rd generation farmer alongside his dad, brother, and eventually son.

Steve married Shelly Dwyer on March 18, 2000 in Casselton, ND. They raised two children and built a life on love, farming, travel, and family. Steve's children were his pride and joy. He was thankful to be blessed to spend time at the end connecting with them making sure they knew how much they meant to him.

Along with being a lifelong farmer, Steve was a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Gwinner Fire Department for over 30 years. He enjoyed working with his firefighter teams and helping his community stay safe. He also liked hunting deer and pheasant and was thankful to be able to hunt with his kids.

Over the years, Steve and Shelly traveled with their friends and family as often as possible. In the summer it was beautiful scenery by motorcycle. And in the winter, it was somewhere warm by plane. Steve enjoyed all the places he was able to travel. But he always said it wasn't about where you went, it was about the people you go with that make the best memories. And in the end, it was a great source of enjoyment to relive all those adventures. Steve considered his friends his family. They spent countless hours sharing stories, laughing, touring the countryside, and living their best life.

Surviving Steve are his wife Shelly, children Josie and Calvin; father Roger Bopp; sister Kristi (Brad) Giese; brother Scott (Christine) Bopp; mother-in-law Virginia Dwyer; sister-in-law Becky Dwyer (Clint Hayford); nephews Zach (Brandi Gades) Giese and Austin (Liz) Mattson, nieces Kourtney (Gabe) Hoseth, Allie Bopp, and Mariah Bopp; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bopp, and father-in-law, Jim Dwyer.

Steve fought his cancer battle like a warrior. He passed quietly surrounded by love on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at CHI Lisbon Health in Lisbon, ND at the age of 55.
