Emily Brooks Bopp

Emily Bopp, age 70, of Wexford, PA, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, following a long illness. She was born on October 18, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Mary Rees Brooks and John Hapgood Brooks.

Emily had a deep love for her family and a lifelong passion for education. She graduated from Miami University with a degree in Education and went on to earn her master's degree in the same field from the University of South Carolina.

In 1978, Emily married the love of her life, Richard Bopp. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Nathan and Whitney, who were the pride and joy of her life.

Emily devoted 38 years to teaching middle school students across four different states. Her dedication, patience, and genuine care for her students left a lasting impact on countless young lives. Beyond the classroom, she enjoyed all kinds of crafts, water activities, and adventure travel. Her favorite destinations included South Africa, the Galapagos Islands, and Antarctica-places that reflected her curiosity and adventurous spirit.

Emily will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her warm smile, kind heart, and loving attitude.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Bopp; her children, Nathan (Maryam) Bopp and Whitney (Jason) Sintic; her sister, Margaret (late Gregory); and her four cherished grandchildren, Layla, Jackson, Brianna, and Madelynn.

A private family celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
