Ola Bopp

Ola Bopp, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at her home in Indian Land, South Carolina. Born on October 21, 1939, in Ukraine, Ola's journey of 86 years was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family, her passion for life, and her generous spirit.

A high school graduate, Ola embraced the role of a dedicated homemaker with grace and joy. Her life's work was the well-being of her family, a testament to her loving nature. She lived for a time in Hicksville, New York, Enfield, Connecticut, and Surfside Beach, South Carolina, before finding her final home in Indian Land. Ola's heart was always with her family, and the warm and inviting home she created was a reflection of her caring soul.

Ola's marriage to Victor Herbert Bopp was a cherished chapter of her life, lasting 55 beautiful years until his passing in March 2018. Together, they built a family rooted in love and mutual respect. She is survived by her devoted son, Thomas Michael Bopp, and his wife, Stacey Marie Bopp, as well as her adored grandchildren, Sophia Alexandra and Tyler James Bopp. Ola was predeceased by her husband, Victor; her son, James William Bopp; her parents, Alexandria Volinko Misurenko and Wasyl Misurenko; and her siblings, Nina Mudryk, Lydia Aygney, and Pete Misurenko.

Ola's interests were many and varied, but she was particularly known for her love of gardening, which allowed her to nurture life in all its forms. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and her dishes brought comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to partake in them. An ardent Elvis Presley fan, Ola's favorite color was purple, a hue that matched the richness and depth of her character.

Throughout her life, Ola was remembered as a loving, caring, and thoughtful person. She was the epitome of kindness, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness extended beyond her family as she volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Myrtle Beach, offering nourishment and companionship to those in need. Though she had no pets of her own, the pets of her grandchildren-Charlie, Chloe, and Chanel-held a special place in her heart.

Ola was a dedicated member of St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church, where she found spiritual solace and a community that mirrored her own values of compassion and service. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, providing strength and comfort through the years.

As we bid farewell to Ola Bopp, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, yet her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us.
