Garry Newman

Garry Wayne Newman was born March 5, 1968, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Lonnie Newman and Lassie Newsom Newman. He departed life on this side, Monday, December 22, 2025, at Tristar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Garry accepted Christ in his life at an early age and was a Christian by faith.

Garry was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Public Schools. He attended Pearl Cohn High School and Nashville, Technical College. He was employed by Bruce Hardwood Floors. He was in a loving relationship with Nicoya Daniels.

Garry grew up on Park Avenue hanging out with family and friends. He loved all sports especially baseball. He enjoyed outdoors fishing and hunting. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Garry was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie and mother Lassie Newman, daughter, Garnisha Newson, sister, Freda Batts, Claudia Newman, brothers, Perry Batts, Gregory Newman, nephew, Charles (Chan) Pinkerton, niece, LaQuita Cole.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sister, Terri Newman, Linda, Shirley, Deborah, brother, Vincent Batts, children, Dashell (Courtney) Sales, Garrisha Newson, CaNesha Newson, ShaGarria Chansuthus, Mia Newman, Tayah Newson, La’Dejah Daniels, Donta Dean, grandchildren, DaQuan, Courtney, Couri, Mari, Maria, Courtney, Jr., nephews and nieces, Brandon, Reginald, Brandi, Montez, Montesha, Zeka, Vasee, ChenQuita, Pooh, uncle, Earl Flether, devoted companion Nicoya Daniels and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
